Iranian traditions in dance and ceremonial find their origin in remote history.
Each tribal area is isolated by high mountain ranges and arid deserts.
This topography has preserved individual traditions for centuries.
Through the XXth Century barriers began to crumble and cultures were
vulnerable to exterior influences.
Now in the XXIst Century great efforts must be made to secure the treasures
of the past for the generations of the future.
This is the mission of IRAN-DAS.

Most of the photographs below are from actual performances by the Mahalli Dancers of Iran

As we build this website we will add descriptions of each representation, including tribal or

ethnic origin, and all relevant information

For the moment, please enjoy the pictures.
