IRAN-DAS
preserves, promotes and performs the ancient traditions of Iranian Dance and Ceremonial.
Our MISSION is to keep alive the vast cultural treasure collected by the
IRAN NATIONAL FOLKLORE ORGANIZATION, from 1965 to 1976.
We are also the guardians of the fascinating repertoire presented worldwide by
THE MAHALLI DANCERS OF IRAN® and encourage and promote teaching and performances.
IRAN-DAS is also promoting the MILLENIUM OF FERDOWSI in 2010/11 - Ferdowsi is one of the most notable poets in world literature.
His masterpiece "The Shahnameh," or Book of Kings, took thirty years to complete. 2010 marks the millenium of this outstanding contribution to world literature.
IRAN-DAS is honored to present the dance drama ZAL & RUDABEH, inspired by the Shahnameh.

Robert de Warren is the author of DESTINY'S WALTZ - In Step with Giants.

This memoir covers his quite extraordinary experiences from his childhood in Uruguay and Argentina, through his years as a Principal Dancer and member of Britain's Royal Ballet, eleven years in Iran under the Shah, and his directorship of Northern Ballet Theatre, La Scala Ballet in Milan, and his close collaboration and friendship with Rudolf Nureyev.
