ROBERT DE WARREN, veteran international dance director and choreographer, has long wanted
Sarasota to be the destination for a major dance festival. With support from the community and his experience as former thirteen
year director of Satarosa Ballet, he recently stated: " Sarasota Dance Festival is a dream to become true. For years
I have wanted to create an annual dance event duirng the "down season" now is the time. Sarasota is a destination
for high value cultural events. Dance is no exception."
He has invited his long-time friend and super-star Jose′ Mnauel Carreño to lead the Artistic Team.
Mr. Carreño is well known to Sarasota audiences, having garnered "standing ovations" on his frequent visits
to perform with Sarasota Ballet under Robert's direction.
